 LAURYN STRICKLAND                                       

Lauryn Kaznowski – BS in Exercise Science,MS in Therapeutic Recreation. Personal trainer and group exercise instructor since 2009. 

Lauryn believes that fitness is a way of life, people can start bad habits, or they can start good ones.  Making fitness part of your life is a habit, and one that does not take long to start enjoying.

As a fitness competitor, collegiate athlete and personal trainer, Lauryn is aware that every body has different needs. From nutrition to work outs; Lauryn can find what works for you! No yo-yo dieting, no binge eating and guilt associated  food. With Lauryn you can learn to eat the foods you enjoy while achieving the body you want and deserve! 

 

 

      

 

 

ROSANNE KAZNOWSKI 

Rosanne Kaznowski – Is a certified personal trainer and is also certified in pre & post natal exercise as well as a Pound instructor 

She has followed a holistic path since 2006, first becoming a Reiki Master then adding studies such as Holistic Stress Management, Aromatherapy, Nutrition and Holistic Practitioner.  Rosanne also is the owner of Island Bronzed, and has Incorporated this into the Fitness Connection

I am very excited to be a part of this business, my passion for health and well being is an intricate part of how I teach my classes as well as my personal training sessions.  I am looking forward to seeing  the positive impact The Fitness Connection will have in people’s lives.

 

 

 

 

MEET OUR TRAINERS

 

 

JILL LINDHORST

Jill joined the Fitness and Nutrition world making her debut as figure competitor in 2015.  After training for many months and competing and placing in all of her events, she decided the gym life was for her and pursued her certification in personal training.  As a cheerleading coach she brings fun and excitement to her personal training clients.  Jill is an awesome nutrition coach using macro  as her basis to help clients achieve the results they are looking for.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

JESSICA SCHEFFEL

 

Jess is the newest member of our team.   She has been in the fitness world all of her life, first as a gymnast then as a power lifter.   Jessica is enthusiastic and dedicated to her client’s success.  Jessica is a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach.  Jess understands the dynamics of exercise, nutrition and supplementation and how putting it all together will help her clients achieve great results.

         ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR

      JANICE ZITO

Janice Zito was born with a love for dance and fitness, and a passion for teaching.  In 1994, she became certified by AFAA as a Group Exercise Instructor.  This experience motivated her to pursue an education in the field.  Janice studied Exercise Science and received a Bachelors degree in Education from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. During her time at Adelphi she was also trained and certified by the American College Of Sports Medicine as a Health and Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. In addition, she worked in the on site Cardiac Rehabilitation program. Janice landed her first full time job at the NBC Health and Fitness Center at Rockefeller Plaza in New York, where she taught Step, Kickboxing, Circuit, Hip Hop, and Weight/Strength training classes.  This was an amazingly fun and unforgettable experience! In 2000, Janice took a journey to the west coast and moved to Seattle where she became certified to teach Les Mills Body Pump. During this time Janice switched gears and pursued a teaching career. She became a certified Montessori Elementary teacher and  later received a Masters degree in Special Education back at Adelphi University. She’s currently a licensed ZUMBA and ZUMBA Step Instructor.  Her favorite thing about group exercise is connecting with the participants and witnessing the transformations they make, both mind and body!

 

 

 

 

DANCE XCROSS FITNESS / BARRE

           MONICA AYRES

 

Monica has been a member at TFC since August and has been teaching DanceXrossFitness (DXF) on and off for a year. 

She loves the combination of dancing, strength training, and kickboxing, and thinks it’s a fun way to mix up the normal routine.  She teaches a class for all skill levels and invites everyone to come try something new!

 

 

 

 

 

YOGA

 

MORIA CLEARY DWYER

 

After a few years away from the Hudson Valley, Moira is back in NY and lives in Kingston.  Moira has been studying yoga since 2004 and teaching since 2008. 

She has taught a variety of classes over the years: beginners’ series, core strength yoga, trauma sensitive classes, hot vinyasa. She loves to learn from different teachers from a variety of styles.  She is blessed to be surrounded by some of the most inspiring leaders in the field through her job at the Omega institute for Holistic studies.  She aims challenge her classes while bringing joy and levity to the practice.  

Training: 

Shakti Yoga 200 Hr. and 500 hr. 2008 and 2009

Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga- 2012

Reiki Master- 2016

Favorite yoga pose: Balancing Poses- They remind me to not take myself so seriously. I love to go on yoga adventures and explore all different classes throughout the Hudson Valley and NYC. Anything from a Kundalini class with a gong bath, a Yin class with aromatherapy, a sweaty Hot 26 class, or 60 minutes focused solely on pranayama, I like to learn from them all.

Fun fact: I practice Transcendental Meditation, study with a shamanic healer once a month, and have an overwhelming love of donuts. Balance.
